FABTECH 2018 is right around the corner, and here at IntelliFinishing, we’re rehearsing a fantastic educational presentation! This year’s annual event celebrating the best in metal manufacturing is being hosted in Atlanta at the Georgia World Congress Center from November 6-8. Come and join more than 35,000 attendees for demonstrations by over 1,500 exhibiting companies, as well as informative workshops and presentations by thought-leaders on the latest trends and technology in the metal forming, fabricating, welding and finishing industries. You’ll definitely want to mark your calendar for a certain can’t miss discussion – C60 Automation – Is It for Everyone? on Wednesday, November 07, 1:30 PM – 3:30 PM, Room: B301. IntelliFinishing’s John Claman will lead off that session with his presentation on the Levels of Automation for Finishing Systems.

Automation is Changing Finishing

The role of finishing can’t be understated: it enhances aesthetic appearance, component performance, and offers protection from destructive elements. The ways in which manufacturers go about finishing their products vary, with many still relying on older manual batch systems or simple monorail systems which get the job done, but with limited computer control. However, advanced technology integrated into newer, more sophisticated systems can automate conveyor operations, the load or unload process, the wash/pretreatment, oven control, and the finish booths. The result is a faster, more efficient process with fewer errors, resulting in significant cost savings.

What Level of Automation Is Right For You?

The beauty of next-generation finishing systems is that their automation can be scaled in correlation to an operation’s specific parameters. This scaling is made possible because automation can be broken down into 3 or 4 levels in terms of existing/historical systems and future systems, up to the “Internet of Things”.

If you’re not certain which level of automation you need, or simply interested in how automation can transform your finishing process, then you’re in luck! During his engaging presentation, our very own John Claman will review, compare, and contrast each automation level and their typical applications as applied to finishing systems. While John is known for his sense of humor, he’ll be bringing along some serious but friendly engineers who’ll be able to dive deeper into the technology. Our hope is that you’ll walk away entertained and informed about your available automation options, their benefits, and the costs considerations.

See You There!

With slides and jokes already prepared, John’s presentation on the Levels of Automation within the C60 Automation – Is It for Everyone? is set to enlighten, so be sure to drop by Room B301 on Wednesday, November 7 from 1:30 PM – 3:30 PM. We can’t wait to see you there!
